Steve Welles is the newest member of the United Country Premier Brokers team. Steve was introduced to Colorado and skiing at the age of 12 when the price of a youth lift ticket at Aspen Ski Area was $2. Steve moved to Colorado from the East in 1972 where he attended the Building Trades Program at Colorado Mountain College. His stay at Colorado Mountain College was short lived after investing in a season pass at Aspen Ski Area. “This is where my passion for “Recreational Research” in the Colorado Rockies all began!”

Steve went on to obtain his Multi Engine Instrument Flight Instructor Rating from Emery School of Aviation and Colorado Flying Academy in Denver. He exercised the privileges of his pilot’s license to explore the Rocky Mountain Region. Steve explored places such as Durango, Jackson, Bozeman, the Flathead Valley, Sun Valley, McCall, Sand Point, Bend, the Olympic Peninsula , Eastern Washington and many wonderful places in between.

Of all the beautiful places Steve has seen, he has chosen to settle down in Salida. “ I elected to settle down in Salida because Salida is a town with tremendous character, an abundance of history, awe inspiring mountain views in all directions, incredible trail systems including the Colorado Trail and the Rainbow Trail. The recreation possibilities, the climate and the close proximity to world class ski areas make this a spectacular place to live”.
